Disclosures for LewisSmithLakeRiprap.com
Plain answers about how this Smith Lake referral site works.
We're a referral service
LewisSmithLakeRiprap.com connects Lewis Smith Lake property owners in Alabama with independent local contractors. We don't place riprap, build or repair seawalls or docks, or install lifts ourselves, and we don't employ the contractors we refer.
How we're paid
Contractors pay us to receive referrals or to advertise on this site. Property owners never pay us anything.
One contractor per request
Each request goes to one contractor who serves your area, not to a list of companies.
Contractors are responsible for their work
The contractor you hire is responsible for their licensing, insurance, permits, pricing, workmanship, and warranties. Any agreement is between you and the contractor. We encourage you to check a contractor with the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board or the Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors before hiring. Who does the work explains how.
Calls may be recorded
Calls to our phone number may be recorded for quality and to confirm referrals.
Brands and sources
This site is not affiliated with Alabama Power, Southern Company, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, any county, or any company of a similar name. Shoreline and dock rules on this site are summarized from Alabama Power's published Smith Lake guidelines, its contractor's guide to enhanced natural stabilization and its shoreline website, and from the Corps and state documents each page links to. Cost figures come from the national cost guide each page names, as of the date stated. They are general information, not legal advice. Alabama Power's Smith Lake Shoreline Management office, the Corps, your county and your contractor's written quote are what count.
